How to choose a wine fridge?
A wine fridge preserves the flavors of your wines and offers friendly access to your bottles. Now, the question is: which one to choose?
3 things to consider
Your choice of wine fridge must reflect your relationship with wine and your needs:
- Your consumption habits and tastes in wine are the first elements to take into account when contemplating the purchase of a wine cabinet.
- Next, choosing the size of your future wine fridge is important, based on the number of wine bottles you plan to store and where you want to install it.
- Finally, it is necessary to meet the aesthetic criteria that are important to you: type of door, color of the cabinet, lighting.
1. Use
Do you regularly drink a glass of wine during impromptu dinners or family barbecues? Do you enjoy both a dry white and tannic red?
A wine fridge with multiple service temperatures would suit you best.
Are you storing your wines, reserving them for special occasions? Carefully selecting each bottle gives you real satisfaction and pride?
A single-temperature wine cabinet would be the most fitting option.
2. Size
A big wine lover but limited in space, opt for a smaller wine cabinet with a capacity of around fifty bottles, ideal for you. If you are an epicurean and do not suffer from space constraints, a large wine cabinet that can store several hundred bottles would be more appropriate.
Caution. The storage capacities of wine fridges vary based on the number of shelves and bottle sizes. Often, the advertised figures only consider classic Bordeaux bottles, sometimes without including shelves. While these numbers may be impressive, they do not reflect the daily needs of a wine lover who wants to store various types and sizes of bottles without complications, without having to rearrange shelves, and without the risk of damaging labels.
Goguette wine fridges are available in 3 sizes. For each one, we imagined the exact number of shelves, allowing you optimal daily use.
3. Design
